“I must have flowers. Always and always." Claude Monet
Claude Monet’s quote speaks to my heart! I love to surround myself with flowers. I also need a place to set my keys, glasses, etc. where I can find them again…lol. And that need inspired me to create this workshop.
If any of this speaks to you, I hope you will join me this Saturday, May 11th. It's going to be fun!
- Everyone will paint and decorate one (1) trinket trays. Everyone has the choice between the 2 sizes...approximately 9” or 7” in length.
- We will begin by painting with Cottage Colors and Debi's DIY Chalk & Clay paints. I will have a selection of paint colors for painting your background colors. While the paints dry, I will pull out a collection of IOD transfers and paint inlays to begin planning the inlays or transfers you will use. I've learned a lot about working with the paint inlays since they were first introduced and I will be sharing my techniques that have made them easy to apply. The hardest part is waiting for them to dry to the magic moment when they can be pulled away from the surface! And speaking of that wait...
- While we are waiting for the inlays to do their magic, we will be decoupaging two 4x4 wood canvases. (Because I know it will be difficult for everyone to choose just one!) There will be a lovely selection of art for you to choose from (more than what is pictured above). Some of the mini art papers have quotes already included in them. I have also created some art papers with the space left open for you to stamp a word...or possibly a few words...based on the space left open and the font of the stamp you choose. If preferred, instead of using the art papers, you can create with transfers or paint inlays instead.
- Once the inlays have been pulled away and the transfers have been applied, if you have left the space, we will finish the trays with a bit of stamping and then varnish them to protect them for their new place in your home.
- The supplies provided for this workshop include: 1 unfinished wood trinket tray, 2 thick wood pieces (4"x4") for decoupaged mini art, a selection of IOD transfers and paint inlays, alpha stamps, mini art papers, selection of Cottage Colors paints and Debi's DIY chalk & clay paints, decoupage paste, etc.
- The little metal stands in the photos are not included but are available for sale. The painted jar with flower frog and stamped clay decorations the photo will be a workshop coming soon.
